Expo Guide

The Venue & Accessibility

Melbourne Exhibition Centre – Door 1

Address: 1 Convention Centre Pl, South Wharf VIC 3006
Entrance via Clarendon Street or via Convention Centre Place – Clarendon St is the closest.

There will be a drop off zone in operation at the Clarendon St end of the venue as well as at Convention Centre Place suitable for taxi / uber / vehicle drop off.  If being dropped off in a car we recommend the drop off point at Clarendon St as it is the closest point to the Expo at Door 1.

Quiet Time

We have a dedicated Quiet Time on Saturday morning 9am-10am. During this time we will limit noise, and the attendance is less. Please note that we are unable to dim lighting in the main Expo venue. We will also have a quiet room allocated for people who need to access a low sensory area quickly.

Please note that the busiest time at our Expo is Friday morning, 9am-12pm. If you experience sensory overload in crowds, we recommend attending the Expo after lunch times on Friday OR Saturday or during our Quiet Time.

Facilities & Accessibility

  • The Expo is Bindimapped to assist navigating around the Expo. Search ‘bindimap’ from the Apple Store and download the app

Getting There

Parking

For visitors driving to the Expo there is paid parking available within the venue, entry from Normanby Road. Visitors can secure a parking space and also receive discounted rates when Pre-booking your parking here.

Please note: Although there are multiple car parks within the immediate vicinity of the expo, the Exhibition Centre parking via Normanby Rd is the closest to the Expo but can quickly reach capacity. We strongly recommend you Pre-book your ticket prior to the Expo.

Additionally, there are secure car parks located in and around South Wharf including, South Wharf Retail Car Park, Siddeley Street Carpark, Freeway Carpark and Montague Street Carpark.

There are accessible ramps and lifts throughout the venue, including lift access from the car parks.

For more parking options please see the following carpark options recommended by Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre.

Public Transport

Where possible we recommend taking public transport to the Expo.

TRAM: Tram routes 96, 109 and 12 (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC) will all take you to the Clarendon Street entrance. Otherwise, tram routes 70, 75 and the City Circle (Stop D5) take you to Flinders Street. From there, it’s just a short walk up Clarendon Street until you reach the MCEC.

TRAIN: The closest station is Southern Cross. Once you exit the station, you can catch the 96, 109 or 12 tram routes and arrive at MCEC in just a few stops.

BUS: From Monday to Friday, bus route 237 goes via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street, which is roughly a five-minute walk to MCEC.

For tram/train/bus timetables or further trip planning, use Public Transport Victoria’s Journey Planner.
